I’m going to be 100% honest.
I watched the video where he said it, and I had to replay it a couple of times to even catch it. But in that moment, it was clear to me there was no intent to cause harm, be rude, or disrespectful. He took accountability immediately—no BS apology, no generic company statement. He went live and actually allowed Black people to speak to him directly about the situation and share their feelings. That NEVER happens in this industry. We're lucky if people even acknowledge what they said.
Now, am I annoyed? Yes—because it's just one more thing added to an already shitty week. But I’m not as upset about this incident as I am compared to others in the past.
