I am asking again — if Putin’s doing so fine with his war on Ukraine and if Ukraine is “doomed” and if “resistance is futile” — why is he now taking about “ceasefire” and a “peace deal” virtually on the daily basis?

I guess the answer is that the dictator who unleashed the largest European war since WWII and sent hundreds of thousands into a meat grinder to die for his megalomaniac ego has suddenly realized himself as a high-minded person whose heart bleeds for the dead of war on both sides every second, and thus he wants to stop that madness by choosing peace over himself.
