"Karma Chameleon" was inspired by the turbulent romance between Boy George and the band's drummer, Jon Moss.
Recorded for the album Colour by Numbers (1983), it was a huge success: #1 in the US (first and only #1 there), #1 in the UK and several other countries. The colorful video, featuring Boy George in an iconic hat and extravagant outfits, was filmed on a boat on the River Thames.
"Into the Groove" was released in 1985 (track from the film Desperately Seeking Susan and single that became Madonna's first UK #1). On July 13, 1985, she took the stage at Live Aid in Philadelphia (JFK Stadium) and delivered one of her most iconic performances.
