@Merzwoke not watching the video if you paid me so maybe he realized this and released it anonymously but like. nobody wants to listen to music that judges you for listening to it! people can pick up on that shit even when its instrumental idc!
@Alixio_@Merzwoke interesting ideas, interesting artistic/cultural context, evocative aesthetics, novel instrumental setups, improvisational skill developed by gaining familiarity with your setup, good timing, structure, dynamics, textures - same as high quality normal music, just more abstract
@killcesco also, on top of that i just dont think its applicable to olivia! i think you could have said this about her first album's reception, but since then she's matured into a really great artist. lots of people i would write about before her. thats not a criticism of the article tho
@LillieLovesRush its not even about the "themes"! meaningful themes dont absolve a bad album. im saying the phrasing sounds oblivious, its like saying danny brown is bad because he sounds like a crackhead. idk sorry for the original dunk i just got irritated
@LillieLovesRush calling the album about corrosive society and poverty making you unpalatable and disturbing to others "homeless man screaming at you from across the walmart parking lot metal". the jokes write themselves
