Ok, follow me here for some rough math: if even a tiny fraction of this 40M+ lb warehouse fire became fine particulate smoke, it likely wiped out years of vehicle-emissions gains in one afternoon for the surrounding community. We regulate tailpipes down to milligrams per mile, then let one industrial disaster dump the equivalent of hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of car years of toxic particulate into the air.
