Ambassador DAME MAUREEN PIRIBONEMI TAMUNO Nigeria's High Commissioner, and Ambassador concurrently accredited to Haiti, Belize and the Dominican Republic. officialy reported to Kingston Jamaica, to resume my tour of duty.

The visit was to seek relevant aid from the ministries and the personal support of His Excellency. The Nigerian Vice President was pleased with her level of preparedness, that he had never seen an Ambassador Designate with this much drive and assured her of his full support.

Her Excellency Amb. Maureen Tamuno paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President His Excellency
Yemi Osibanjo. To intimate him on her proposed projects and plans, as the Nigeria's High Commissioner/Ambassador designate to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Belize and Haiti.

The Jamaican Ambassador to Nigeria thanked Her Excellency Ambassador Tamuno for the courtesy visit, and assured her of a warm welcome in Jamaica.

As a result, a lot of Nigerians have expressed their genuine interest in paying visits and starting businesses in Jamaica. She had put steps in place that will materialize upon her arrival to Jamaica. Which will all foster a 20% increase in tourism this year,

She recounted that in a bid to foster awareness of Jamaica in Nigeria she had paid courtesy visits to the Ooni of Ife, Governor of Lagos state as well as other key custodians of Nigerians history and culture.

Her Excellency Janet Olisa. She reiterated that the pre-existing good working relationship with her predecessor will add to the efficient and hitched free running of her work, ultimately fostering profound progress

Ambassador Edmund Reid affirmed that b himself and the Nigerian ambassador to Jamaica were both committed to transforming the relationship existing for over 50 years and the synergy between the two administrations poses a lot of potential for business,

The Ambassador Stated that all these will serve as an asset to strengthening the Bilateral relationship between Jamaica and Nigeria.

In preparation for her departure, The High commissioner/ Ambassador designate to Jamaica, Belize, Dominican Republic, and Haiti, Also the Permanent Representative Of the International Seabed Authority paid a courtesy visit to office of the Jamaican High commission.
