@AllThingsCivil Had to look it up.....I'm not a boomer, much too young. Haven't even been retired from DoD 10 years, yet.
And, just checked the mirror, still no comb-over required. Even through I wore a flight helmet all those years, too. Pretty good.
@AllThingsCivil But lawyer direct commissions are a dime-a-dozen, so no waivers required.....just go find another one.
Space/cyber/tech hirea are completely different animals, and much more relevant to the fight.
So, kind of apples to oranges, actually, when you relate your experiences.
@AllThingsCivil ........I'm still laughing after just realizing that anyone actually thought that any and all waiverable requirements weren't already waived before the first Army official spoke to these folks. People actually think they're just avg off-the-street USAR hires!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@AllThingsCivil They can be 55 at commissioning. For these folks, that's an auto-approve, they're targeted hires. You think they walked into a recruiter? The Army went to these folks, not the other way around!!! I guarantee that for some folks, there is no limit, it's ALL waiverable, even age.
@AllThingsCivil It's not that hard, it's right there on their website. Up to O-6, up to 55.
Also, you are aware that there are previous cases where people were direct commissioned as General Officers, right?
This unawareness is up there with the family travel thing.

@thestinkeye@ConceptualJames 100% of the media/sentiment has been designed to torpedo this admin's efforts. Iran proxies/sympathizers have obvious intent. The Dems/those with TDS would rather see a nuclear Iran than have Trump succeed. The rest are too dumb to see a psyop campaign right in front of them.
@AceFrahm@AllThingsCivil Keep believing that.......
FWIW, these programs are not specific to the Trump admin as they are years old. They originated WITHIN the ranks and are akin to other programs like DIUx with similar goals.
Or, you can just keep believing the conspiracies.

@the15six@AllThingsCivil Is O-6 enough? Maybe if you had the sense to understand that they'd NEVER come on as civilians, you'd understand? FWIW, I placed cyber/space folks throughout the joint SOF spaces and know the difference between what line officers and civilians can do. They're not interchangeable.
@the15six@AllThingsCivil Really? How will you transfer Title 10 authorities to a civilian? How will you give them access and authorities to execute plans? Besides, they're coming in as O-5 reservists...it's literally the LEAST pay they can get for doing that job? You're complaining just to complain.
@the15six@AllThingsCivil Congrats, you're in the running for dumbest post of the day. If you'd like to tell me even one Army system or technology, combat arms or not, that is leading edge, I'm all ears. As we move more towards cyber, drone, etc, where is Army leading that wave?

@thestinkeye@ShamashAran And that there is no final agreement yet, only a framework. And EVERYONE knows, the best negotiations strategy is to broadcast your going in ask (set up for disappointment) or min acceptable (great info for the other party), or your redline for resuming hostilities.
@Barnesy62@BlickyIan We only used it in close formation like that to turn up initial as well; usually just a 3nm initial, any longer and you can make the turn while in route and rock them in once on initial. At all costs, though, do it in time to be tight overhead on initial, don't look like clowns!
@Sawisthe_Law@CWLemoine Was strange to be able to walk up to an Eagle and look into the cockpit while standing on the ground. But, the big surprise was how well it cleaned up when the crane lifted it and the fire truck washed it down. Minimal damage....other than a few stickers, apparently! 🤣
@Sawisthe_Law@CWLemoine I landed at N.O. JRB and told the 122nd FS Top 3 to Wx Cnx due to heavy rain and a flooded rwy (and no ILS due to construction). They launched anyway, your guest help went off the end of the rwy on RTB, and I got to stay and attend the Pimp and Hoe party since the rwy was closed!
