One year later, I became one of the guys in the video.
Yes, the system finally got me.
No β in case you haven't figured it out yet β those videos aren't propaganda or "fake news."
Ukraine REALLY treats its male population worse than dogs.
Yes, this loooong thread of the aforementioned "cases documented on video" is exactly what I'm talking about.
Many folks think it's propaganda and fake news.
I wish it were, my friends, I wish it were...
You can clearly see Ukrainian police cars, Ukrainian military uniforms, Ukrainian watermarks, and can clearly hear the Ukrainian language.

Some people want to believe the Ukraine-Russia war will end this year.
Some experts expect it to end in the next 2-3 years.
Trust me, the war will last another 10+ years easily.
But as far as I'm concerned, at that point, it might as well last forever.
Yet I have no one to blame but myself β I've been given enough second chances.
The lesson's been learned.
But what's the point now?
what
is
the
point
Graduated from school with a gold medal; got a master's degree; several heartbreaks, betrayals; dozens of disappointments in myself, traumatic events; a constant feeling of shame, guilt; 15 years of working out, eating healthy; straight edge my entire life;
All of that just to be kidnapped by your own country, become a slave, and be sent to hell on Earth.
All of that to spend the rest of your days rotting in the trenches and blindages.
All of that to become a cripple.
All of that to be sent to your parents in a bag.
For the last 10 days β and especially in the last 24 hours β I've been damn sure I would send this little bad boy through my thick, stupid skull today.
Thank God, the plans changed π
I wonder, is a soldier the lowest caste?
Homeless people, literal slaves, alcoholics, meth addicts, thugs, and other kinds of street trash live in better conditions, have more freedom, and are treated with more respect than a regular soldier.
There's no such thing as patriotism in the Ukrainian army.
No one's here because they believe in some greater good.
No one's here because they're moved by some high ideas, ideals, or values.
The Ukrainian spirit and courage are a myth.

If someone were tasked with creating a personal hell for me, they would come up with the service in the Ukrainian army.
Not only do I hate everything about serving in an army, I also hate everything Ukrainian: the history, culture, language , and everything in-between.
Out of that, a few natural questions arise:
What's worth a country that has to stoop that low in order to preserve its sovereignty?
Does a country no one cares about deserve to be saved?

Briefly put, this fear of being imprisoned for 10 years OR being sent to certain death by your own country is the only thing that keeps the institute of the Ukrainian army β and Ukraine as a whole β together.
