@KIONnews Living in 831 would be better if we repurposed that railway into a commuter train like the people have been asking for for decades instead of a pointless tourist trap.
@TheStoryHub No dog breed is inherently dangerous. Some breeds require more advanced training or more attentive care to ensure they are properly enriched. Poor enrichment leads to frustration which leads to depression or aggression. Thats part of being a good owner. Stop fear mongering.
@pegpopken@KIONnews Maybe yes maybe no but those dollars aren't going back into the community anyway at least not for the majority of us.The central coast is one of the most expensive places to live relative to median income and partly because new units are sold to landlords first
@RFKAllTheWayUSA @PeterHotez You really think you can compare the researchers of 70 years ago to the researchers of today??? Back then research was still the wildwest. They didnt have a dozen levels of regulation to navigate through and laws dictating how money can be used.
@beckymbuchko@Jjulian6412@PeterHotez As traumatic as that is. Your ire is misdirected and you are teaching grandchild to hate themselves for a condition that is very likely inherited. But you are so afraid to admit that you would rather blame an outside force for "damaging" them than just love them as they are.
@BowTiedRanger@PeterHotez You should be ashamed that you are so ableist toward autisics that you would rather put them at risk of preventable diseases than admit that this condition is likely hereditary and the anti-vax movement is literally a cover for straight up eugenics/genocide
@KingBobIIV@PeterHotez If an academic scientist were to alter data to allow publication under pressure from big pharma they could be terminated from the uni, black-listed, and possibly face legal consequences (see andrew Wakefield). We don't make $ from publishing research in fact we have to pay to pub
@KingBobIIV@PeterHotez They can partner with big pharma to apply for grants, but in the US pharma can't control what they publish UNLESS the researcher used their facilities. Then pharma could claim ownership of the data and prevent its publication. 2/2 (adding 3)
@KingBobIIV@PeterHotez You realize most scientists working in public health are not part of the pharmaceutical industry and can't accept money from them? Most researchers are affiliated with universities and do third party research. 1/2
@LainieandHarry@BowTiedRanger@PeterHotez What you are failing to understand is that it makes no sense that you can think autism and vaccines are related. But because you have no real understanding of biology you are assuming everyone is just as blindly ignorant of these biological mechanisms as you are.
@LainieandHarry@BowTiedRanger@PeterHotez If you had any understanding of medicine and science you would understand how the mechanisms of autism and mechanisms of a vaccines are wholey unrelated. Autism is likely inherited with a strong connection to family history. Vaccines are environmental and target the immune sys.
@billessayli Children are the domain of themselves. They deserve basic human rights and the government is obligated to protect them. They are not extensions of their parents. If we still treated them underbsolely the domain of their parents then child abuse would still be legal
@billessayli@NPR Trans kids, also your constituents, are telling you they dont want this because they KNOW they wont have parental support. Dont act this is for trans kids. This for you and parents who want to control their children rather than treat them as people with their own thought/opinions
@manga_librarian Wow when people blame their own assumptions and willful ignorance on you "gatekeeping". Nevermind that there are full length lets plays with and WITHOUT commentary in youtube.
@billbrokob@Itshannahturner I got free and reduced lunch and my family recieved welfare because my dad is a disabled marine corps vet and was illegally terminated from his job over his disability. I got a job at a very normal age of 16 and moved out at 19 with 20k in savings. Shut up
@Cheri_NotCherry@TheFemBat_ Idk if this helps at all and maybe this is already something you are using but I found having an IUD to be a good option. I lost nearly all symptoms of PMS. Occaisional extremely mild sysmptoms but mostly barely noticeable. Periods disappeared almost completely
