Cygnets enjoyed celebrating @WorldBookDayUK. They all
Looked amazing in their masks that represented their favourite books. We made our own bookmarks and loved sharing our books with the children from Year 4. @satrust_#worldbookday2025#RISE
Wow, what an experience! We took a group of children to Birmingham to sing in the Young Voices Choir. We were inspired by all the fabulous singers and musicians and had an amazing time! @satrust_#inspire#RISE#youngvoices
Thank you Notts + Derby buses, we see your bus outside our school everyday and the children always ask if they can go on it and today your generosity made their wish come true. We had a great time and it definitely enriched our day @satrust_#enrichment#nursery#rise
Counting, crackers and classic cartoons all helped us to listen carefully for our sound of the week. Some of us also heard it in curry and cake that we had for lunch, we are getting so good at listening for our initial sounds @satrust_@LettersSounds#phonics#nursery
For #SaferInternetDay we created our own tablets, suddenly symbols popped up on them that shouldn’t be there. Discussing this we learnt if this ever happened to us we have to stop and tell an adult. We then learnt a song to help us remember #smartiepenguin#nursery@satrust_
It was inspiring having a parent come into nursery today to share her role as a dental nurse. She shared with us how to look after our teeth. We got to be a dentist using a mirror to check Duncan’s teeth and then practised our brushing skills @satrust_#eyfs#inspire#rise
On Tuesday, Mrs Mughal-Martin our Mental Health Lead launched Children's Mental Health Week by delivering an assembly with our EMPATHY leaders. We talked about all the things we have at Highfields to support children's mental health.
This week Miss Mok delivered a fantastic assembly on Lunar New Year and was assisted by some of our amazing students. We found out how some of our families celebrate this festival and about the similarities between Lunar New Year and Christmas. @satrust_#RISE#Empathy#Respect
We have enjoyed learning about how people celebrate Lunar New Year today. Our friend shared her special clothes, we tasted food, made special money bags and created our own dragon dance. Happy Lunar New Year 🐍 @satrust_#lunarnewyear#eyfs#nursery#celebrations
We loved visiting our local shop today. We explored the shelves looking for the items we needed and those we would have liked, used our money to pay and took them back to school. The staff of Highfields Coop were so welcoming @satrust_@coopuk#nursery#community#eyfs
