This is legally powerful because each nation has its own constitutional basis for self‑determination.

Step 2 A Notification to the UN Secretary General

This is the part most people don’t know..
Any sub‑state nation with a distinct constitutional identity can file a communication of constitutional breakdown.

This does not require statehood.
It requires standing, which Scotland, Wales, and NI all have.

Step 3 A Referral to the Human Rights Council

The UNHRC can open a file on
denial of self‑determination
suppression of constitutional identity
democratic obstruction

The UK cannot veto this.
Step 4 Appointment of a Special Rapporteur

Once a rapporteur is appointed, the process becomes internationalised.

The UK cannot stop this.
It can only refuse cooperation which strengthens the case.

Here’s the punchline, if the
3 First Ministers put forward the claim that the UK has failed democratic scrutiny.
Then within weeks the UN will send notification to the UK and begin to analyse over time whether it’s the case.
This puts the FOUR nations in a different state, where any curbing of democracy becomes part of the case against the UK.
When you look at your own complaints regarding the UK, and add the multiple international complaints from abroad how the UK has been supporting a country breaking UN charter and IHL multiple atrocities, along with the Irish position in particular( which is already UN agreement via the GFA) and also now the Welch position of Independence.
This is a game changer it has massive ramifications for the UK

As I already said this doesn’t negate any arguments you or any other knowledgeable Scottish historian has in any way, it is purely the case that democracy as of now inside the UK has failed and the fact that we have three independent FM for the first time in history, that’s what opened this door.

The structural question is simple the answer unbreakable.

I had the misfortune of watching the full five hours plus of Unite The Kingdom speeches.

I think the organisers were conscious of police warnings about straying over the line into racial or anti Muslim hatred so the rhetoric was not as strident as last year. But the mask slipped several times so the authorities should take a very close look at whether any offences were committed.

Most of the blatant Islamophobia came from Tommy himself when making up lies and gross generalisations about "Muslim rape gangs" and the constant refrain to get ready for a fight.

But there was also the three crazy French women mocking the burqa; or the nutty South Korean playing a cello with two slabs of bacon over his shoulders; or Kellie Jay Keen with her incendiary anti Islam rhetoric.

And there were many other speeches which focused on the threat from foreign men (code for migrants and Muslims).

It was clearly an anti Islam, anti migrant rally full of white supremacist messages with a few brown faces for cover.

The fact is that a rally which mocked Judaism and Jews would simply not have been allowed to take place, let alone in front of Parliament.

So why was that disgusting march and rally, full of drunken racists and Islamophobes, given the go ahead?
