We wonder if the BBC prosecution line "She must have known what he was up to" will be deployed if and when the husband of Scottish Labour MP Joani Reid stands trial? Somehow we think not.
The Scottish Parliament has spoken. A significant majority of MSPs has voted to affirm the right of people in Scotland to decide their constitutional future.
This is democracy and it must be respected. Scotland’s future must be in Scotland’s hands. 🏴

I agree with you, however if the three countries’
First Ministers claim it’s no longer a valid union this becomes
the real accelerant.
If Scotland, Wales,Northern Ireland
jointly declare that the Union no longer reflects democratic consent, the UN process accelerates dramatically.
Why?
Because it becomes
A multinational constitutional crisis, not a separatist claim.
That changes everything.
It is a real constitutional lever but one that has never been pulled because it requires coordination, courage, and timing.
Here is the exact structure.
THE THREE FIRST MINISTER TRIGGER
How Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland could jointly declare the Union no longer valid without Westminster’s permission
This is a constitutional fact rooted in
the Claim of Right (Scotland)
the Government of Wales Act (Wales)
the Good Friday Agreement (Northern Ireland)
the principle of consent recognised by the UK itself
the UN Charter
the ICCPR Article 1 (self‑determination)
None of these require Westminster’s approval.
Breakdown
1. The Union is not a single contract it is three overlapping constitutional relationships
The UK is not one union.
It is three unions..
Scotland–England Union (1707)
A treaty between two parliaments.
Ireland Great Britain Union (1800)
Later partially dissolved.
Wales England incorporation (1536–1543)
Not a treaty an annexation.
Each has its own constitutional logic.
If all three devolved governments simultaneously declare..
“The Union no longer reflects the democratic consent of our nations,”
the UK enters a multinational constitutional crisis, not a separatist dispute.
This is the key.
2. Why this matters internationally
The UN does not intervene in “internal constitutional disagreements.”
But it does intervene when..
multiple nations within a state withdraw consent the constitutional basis of the state collapses
The metropolitan government refuses democratic remedies
the people of a nation express sustained, repeated mandates
This is how Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and Sudan entered the international arena.
The UK cannot veto this.
3. What the First Ministers would actually do
Step 1 A Joint Declaration of Constitutional Breakdown
A coordinated statement from..
First Minister of Scotland
First Minister of Wales
First Minister of Northern Ireland
declaring..
“The Union no longer commands democratic legitimacy in our nations.”
This is legally powerful because each nation has its own constitutional basis for self‑determination.
Step 2 A Notification to the UN Secretary General
This is the part most people don’t know..
Any sub‑state nation with a distinct constitutional identity can file a communication of constitutional breakdown.
This does not require statehood.
It requires standing, which Scotland, Wales, and NI all have.
Step 3 A Referral to the Human Rights Council
The UNHRC can open a file on
denial of self‑determination
suppression of constitutional identity
democratic obstruction
The UK cannot veto this.
Step 4 Appointment of a Special Rapporteur
Once a rapporteur is appointed, the process becomes internationalised.
The UK cannot stop this.
It can only refuse cooperation which strengthens the case.
Step 5 General Assembly consideration
If the rapporteur finds
sustained democratic mandates
constitutional incompatibility
suppression of national sovereignty
the case moves to the General Assembly.
And again..
The UK has no veto.
4. Why this route is faster than the “queue for a referendum”
Because
It bypasses Westminster
It reframes the issue as restoration, not secession
It uses international law, not UK domestic law
It leverages three nations, not one
It triggers UN mechanisms, not UK permission
This is the first time all three nations have had three independence first ministers.
🏴⚖️☮️🤔🌏
Here’s the punchline, if the
3 First Ministers put forward the claim that the UK has failed democratic scrutiny.
Then within weeks the UN will send notification to the UK and begin to analyse over time whether it’s the case.
This puts the FOUR nations in a different state, where any curbing of democracy becomes part of the case against the UK.
When you look at your own complaints regarding the UK, and add the multiple international complaints from abroad how the UK has been supporting a country breaking UN charter and IHL multiple atrocities, along with the Irish position in particular( which is already UN agreement via the GFA) and also now the Welch position of Independence.
This is a game changer it has massive ramifications for the UK
As I already said this doesn’t negate any arguments you or any other knowledgeable Scottish historian has in any way, it is purely the case that democracy as of now inside the UK has failed and the fact that we have three independent FM for the first time in history, that’s what opened this door.
The PEOPLE of the THREE NATIONS

Israel is on high alert arresting hundreds of civilians on ships bound for Gaza carrying weapons such as bread, milk and medicine.
The people of Gaza have the right to aid even under occupation and siege, but international law clearly doesn’t apply to Israel.
The charity Choose Love has raised £204,000 for refugees after Tommy Robinson’s London hate march was turned into a fundraising campaign.
Ahead of the march, the charity launched the “Tommy Chooses Love” campaign, encouraging people to donate for every metre of the route. The further the hate march went, the more money was raised for refugees, displaced people, and anti-racism organisations across the UK.
Hughie Stirling, 68 was kidnapped last night by Israel in international waters and he is being illegally held hostage.
The Media is barely reporting it, I hope you will get the message out, and get him home from these evil terrorists.
NEW: @scottishgreens MSP @ArianeBurgessHI has written to the Foreign Secretary after her constituent Hughie Stirling was detained by Israeli forces while taking part in the Global Sumud Flotilla
So far, the UK Government has refused to provide an on the record comment
UK a democracy or not?
The structural question is simple the answer unbreakable.
1
If the UK is a voluntary union of nations, then each nation must have a meaningful say in its future.
Without ongoing consent, it stops being a union and becomes something else.
2
The UK’s democratic mechanisms no longer command confidence
This is observable, measurable, and widely acknowledged across the political spectrum.
A system that cannot demonstrate legitimacy cannot rely on historical claims to override present reality.
3
When legitimacy breaks, constitutional renegotiation becomes necessary
Every modern state facing constitutional decay must either reform or dissolve.
This is standard constitutional practice.
A union that cannot demonstrate ongoing consent is not a union it is an arrangement that must be reviewed.
That’s it the whole argument.
Simple unanswerable.
The core
A union that cannot demonstrate ongoing consent is not a union.
It is an arrangement that must be reviewed.🤔☮️🌏⚖️🏴
I had the misfortune of watching the full five hours plus of Unite The Kingdom speeches.
I think the organisers were conscious of police warnings about straying over the line into racial or anti Muslim hatred so the rhetoric was not as strident as last year. But the mask slipped several times so the authorities should take a very close look at whether any offences were committed.
Most of the blatant Islamophobia came from Tommy himself when making up lies and gross generalisations about "Muslim rape gangs" and the constant refrain to get ready for a fight.
But there was also the three crazy French women mocking the burqa; or the nutty South Korean playing a cello with two slabs of bacon over his shoulders; or Kellie Jay Keen with her incendiary anti Islam rhetoric.
And there were many other speeches which focused on the threat from foreign men (code for migrants and Muslims).
It was clearly an anti Islam, anti migrant rally full of white supremacist messages with a few brown faces for cover.
The fact is that a rally which mocked Judaism and Jews would simply not have been allowed to take place, let alone in front of Parliament.
So why was that disgusting march and rally, full of drunken racists and Islamophobes, given the go ahead?
@msm_monitor Andy Burnham on TV telling us that Devolution hasn't worked well for the people "Up North" and is being ignored by Westminster.
Try being further "Up North" than Wigan.
How many of you have heard of this white British 19 yr old Nazi who tried to murder someone with an axe because she thought they were Muslim?
Media silence. Because it doesn’t fit the narrative.
