Tarmac laying has officially started on the Rironi–Mau Summit Road following grading, earthworks and other preparatory construction works. The first blacktop was laid at the Ngarariga Interchange on the Rironi–Naivasha stretch. The A8 upgrade targets an October 30 opening for that section, with the full corridor due for completion by June 2027.
