@Taniel MD Senate leader pushed back on the gerrymander proposal for this year, noting the GOP MD Supreme Court as a blocking institution. Many of the justices were appointed by Larry Hogan. They will be there for many years. The 2027 MD GA can add justices. Done many times in past.

@TracesofTexas The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection at UT Austin has lots from this era including the Buckley papers. William F. Buckley Sr. backed the wrong side and lost an oil fortune. WFB Sr. grew up on the border, got a law degree at UT and opened a practice in Mexico City.
