The Legion congratulates former Supreme Court Justice Louise Arbour on being named Canada’s next Governor General. As Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Governor General is traditionally also the Legion’s viceregal patron and presents the country’s First Poppy each November.
Legion branches are such a crucial part of Canadian communities. Legions across the country raise funds and supports for essential services for those in need, both for Veterans and their local communities.

Thank you for your trust, your candour, and your belief that we can always do better.
