@sam_armytage You may also want to look at your role in the overall media landscape and your responsibility - how are you perpetuating racism and giving time and air to hate speech and these vile people and statements? Is this really the side of history you want to be on?
@sam_armytage If you're more concerned with being called out as a racist then understanding how your actions are harmful than you need to look at your priorities. A better response would have been to accept your part, and commit to educating yourself and doing better.
@sam_armytage You need to understand how deep racism is ingrained in all of us and how these 'off the hand' comments are incredibly harmful to BIPOC. It goes back to our feelings of white superiority, and exceptionalism. Your response shows your white fragility, making yourself the victim.
