The GOP is talking about gutting Social Security and Medicare.

This is the opposite of what we need.

Now, the cap for funding these programs is about $140,000 per year.

COMMON SENSE says to raise that level to ensure that Social Security and Medicare are funded forever.

Large corporations have monopoly power in the marketplace.

Industry consolidation has created a lack of competition, which leaves large corporations able to raise prices at will.

The most beneficial way to control inflation is to have robust competition between businesses.

There is no place in a thriving democracy for this type of political violence.

Michigan has one of the most diverse farm communities in the entire nation.

We need to keep it that way.

Normally, as a Democrat, I don't believe in subsidizing big corporations.

But farming is different.

Farming needs security.

I am pro-farmer.

The main job of the US government in relation to farmers is to provide them financing.

Farmers have a unique economic situation.

They have to buy retail and sell wholesale.

Farming is much more risky than many other businesses.
