Worshipping at the Methodist Church used to be a deeply moving spiritually charged experience. The singing of the hymns accompanied with an ‘occasional’ percussive tapping of the hymn books carried extraordinary weight that settled the spirit rather than trying to excite it.

Hayi ke then entered the introduction of constant bell ringing, clinked and shaken through almost every hymn along with that jarring, “duntsu-duntsu” dancing. All of which have altered the entire atmosphere of worship. What was once measured and reflective now feels restless, even abrasive at times. Uvele uxakeke ingathi use ntlombeni. I am told some Anglican and Catholic perishes have developed these nasty tendencies too.

Woman Missing After Meeting Online Acquaintance: Klaarwater - KZN

A 20-year-old woman from Klaarwater, KwaZulu-Natal, has been reported missing after leaving her residence on Saturday morning, 28 February 2026, to meet a man she had reportedly met on social media.

According to family members, Tanya Govender was last seen at approximately 08:00 departing from her home on Hlanganisa Road in Demat, Klaarwater - KZN.

She informed her sister that she was travelling to Durban - KZN to meet a male acquaintance whom she had communicated with via Facebook.

It is alleged that the man arranged an E-Hailing service ride for Govender. Her sister did not see the vehicle she left with. Govender indicated that she would return home by 17:00 but has not been seen since.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a blue dress and carrying a black handbag. She is described as tall, fair in complexion, with long black hair. She has Eczema on her right hand and is Epileptic.

Family members stated that approximately three (3) weeks prior, Govender had planned to meet the same individual but was prevented from doing so.

Neither Govender nor her family had previously met the man, identified only as “Tyler,” with communication reportedly limited to online messaging. The family believes she may currently be in the KwaDukuza - KwaZulu-Natal, but this could not be confirmed.
