#BlackHistoryMonth
One-third of people exposed to violence said they considered buying a firearm.
But guns don't actually make you safer. Respondents who experienced severe distress were more likely to report that a firearm was involved.

It is an honor to have @BarackObama read and share our new @EFSGV/@CSGV report: A Public Health Crisis Decades in the Making.
Gun Violence remains a uniquely American epidemic, we are hopeful Congress & @WhiteHouse can work together to find solutions to reduce gun violence.
More than one in four homicides in the U.S. are related to domestic violence, and the presence of a firearm in a DV situation increases the risk of severe injury and death.

Community solutions to ending gun violence need support.
Black women are working harder than ever to implement violence prevention programs, but lawmakers must show up too.
