According to some estimations the new Economic Partnership Agreement with Japan will slash duties for European exporters by about €1 billion a year and could boost European exports from between 16 to 24 percent over the next 10 to 15 years.

In the last days as ECB's president, Mario Draghi has been criticised even more than before to intimidate his successor. Despite these critics, Ms Lagarde should try to bring forward consensus on the need for fiscal policy to support the recovery.@co_epe

Recent ECB’s decisions have provoked different criticism. Oliver Bäte, chief executive of Allianz accused the ECB of “politicisation” of the monetary policy and Draghi of not being independent. Are things going to change with the new presidency?

In the last 5 years, export from the EU increased by roughly 15% and there are ambitions for the next years(including a free-trade deal with India). Despite challenges, according to the EU’s Trade Commissioner “the EU can lead if it has allies”. @co_epe

If the purpose of the QE is to stimulate the economy, shouldn't the ECB introduce measures to get the eurozone banks engaging in the stimulus effort? Instead of part of the problem, banks should be part of the solution. @co_epe

Is continuing with the path of yet more QE producing the growth the ECB expects? While the QE has helped in its early days, if growth has been “borrowed” from the future, then we may be approaching that future, already deprived of growth. @co_epe
