I wonder why the findings of the Justice Rohini Commission (for OBCs) and the recent Supreme Court judgment allowing for the sub-categorisation of SCs are not the core demands of this movement.

If we truly care about our marginalised brethren, we must acknowledge that a tiny 'creamy layer' elite has hijacked the benefits of reservation for decades, leaving the most vulnerable sub-castes with nothing. Sub-categorisation is the only way to make the system rational and equitable.

So, why is this not being demanded? -

The resistance comes from the "Marxist" gatekeepers and pseudo-liberals. They thrive on maintaining a monolithic 'oppressed' narrative. They fear sub-categorisation because it breaks the 'vote bank' and empowers the poorest of the poor to become independent of the dynasty-led discourse. The collective leadership of frontier AI has failed miserably in doing the basics:

1. Paint a positive picture of what is possible with AI. Instead of spilling the ink on the glass half full, stories abound of pearl clutching, catastrophizing or arcane technical jargon that, together, breed mistrust, fear and skepticism.

2. Visibly and disproportionately enrich the local communities AI data centers operate in. Tell these stories with a megaphone and have local leaders lead with the financial proof so it’s irrefutable.

3. Stop infighting and stop trying to influence the government or trick them because of the asymmetric knowledge the industry has relative to outsiders and observers. This further makes it seem like a shady money grab to many bystanders.

Data centers have unfortunately become THE symbolic representation of the asymmetric upside for a very narrow tech elite and a class that are untrustworthy.

Inasmuch, the safer bet may be that the pushback and resistance grows…

1. Promote and celebrate ethical wealth creation
2. Encourage society to pursue purushartha - artha and kama within a Dharmic framework, with moksha as by-product.

1. Boom in digital grooming - a jih@di sitting in Bengaluru can now trap a girl in Jodhpur via Instagram or Snapchat.
