OTD 4th Feb 2017. Firethroat at Nam Kham Nature Reserve, Chiang Saen, in the north of Thailand. Well worth the effort and sharing again. Still seems like yesterday @mick_turton@AWBirder#mega#Thailand
Lots of activity at Stretford Meadows (MCR) this am, with 2 Tree Pipit (1 singing), male Redstart, Grasshopper Warbler reeling briefly and 2 Common Whitethroat, the highlights.
Med Gull at Turn Moss Playing Fields, Stretford, GM, this morning. This is the 4th successive year they've turned up here in the 3rd week of June @OurTurnMoss
@tom_mckinney@01000011S Alright Tom. I was at the Davyhulme side of Barton Lock yesterday, the water level was much higher and only a couple of dead fish on the surface. A different picture entirely.
Countless thousands of dead fish, mostly Bream (?) by the looks of it, lining both sides of the Manchester Ship Canal at Barton Embankment and Langland Drive
@01000011S Not sure. The water level went down in the hot spell last year and that didn't happen, so maybe both. Not a pretty sight or smell and nothing is eating them.
@SamHarr00273062 @OurTurnMoss 11 of those observations were in spring between 23rd March and 30th April, with 2 autumn sightings on 23rd August '82 and 23rd September 2013
Had quite a tidy Wheatear day with 21 across 3 sites in MCR, 10 Warburton, 9 Carrington Moss and finally these 2 on the patch at Turn Moss this evening @OurTurnMoss
@SamHarr00273062 @OurTurnMoss eBird tells me that's 13 observations of 28 individuals. My first was 10th April 1977 and highest count was 7 on 25th April 1977
