@bluevirginia @notlarrysabato Mostly accurate, but misses the point that GA can (and does) boot judges who don't measure up. It happened in my area just last year. The Dems in the GA in 2021 declared this judge measured up and retained him in office. Let's leave it at that and stop attacking the judge.

@bluevirginia Here's the thing. This judge was re-elected to a second term on Jan. 26, 2021 by a General Assembly in which the Democrats had a majority and controlled legislative action. The House voted for this judge 96-0 and the Senate, 37-1. To repeat, the Democrats in control did this.

Right. Gov. McDonnell made a temporary appointment that lasted about six months. My point is that the judge has served for thirteen years because the General Assembly elected and re-elected him to judicial office.

Enough already with the MAGA nonsense. We Democrats should not call a judicial decision we disagree with highly partisan. Have some respect for a judge who the VA Supreme Ct will correct if he's wrong. By the way, judges in VA are elected to office by the General Assembly.

@kaitlancollins Sens. Tim Kaine & Mark Warner recommended Todd Gilbert as U.S. attorney in Va's Western District and the president nominated Gilbert. Gilbert resigned after 37 days, and the president appointed Robert Tracci as acting U.S. Attorney. Kaine and Warner also recommended Tracci.
