Fun Fact: A "day burner" is a streetlight that's on during the daytime. Our LED streetlights rely on photoelectric eyes to turn on at night, but occasionally they need repair and stay on all day!

Just before 5am, customers in South Hingham, including High St, Cross St, French St, & nearby areas, experienced a brief outage caused by an issue on the transmission system outside of Hingham.

Power was restored quickly. We appreciate your patience.

Check out the new reclosure we added near Water St last week. It was installed just in time. Without it, this weekend’s tree incidents could’ve left nearly 1,000 neighbors in the dark. Now? Only 480 were affected. Key upgrades like this help keep Hingham's lights on 💡
