I wasn’t a decades-long Destiny 2 veteran.

I joined because a friend challenged me to try it, and somehow, in a very short time, it became one of my favourite comfort games.

It felt like I had known this world for years.

As #Destiny2 reaches its final chapter, I’m genuinely grateful I got to be a small part of it. Thank you @DestinyTheGame @Bungie, the light reached me and I hope it continues to many other guardians across the galaxy.

I am a corporate lawyer who is simultaneously pursuing content creation/streaming, and while I haven't been doing Youtube/Twitch for long, I think I can offer some perspective.

The hard truth is that streaming is neither hard nor easy, it just depends.

Not all jobs are created equal and nor all streams are created equal. The '9-5' job can vary depending on the country you live in and the actual job you are engaged in. I am not sure what job this is where you can jus instantly mentally check out once 5 pm hits but from my experience almost everybody I have met aren't able to do that and are often working outside working hours and if not working, preparing for the upcoming day. This is not to mention the stress and conditions that are put on by your managers/superiors.

That said, streaming is not easier inherently too. While I see a lot of comments highlighting that somebody logs on at 12 am to play Elden Ring, but its not the same for everyone. While there are streamers who may just do that, there are many other streamers who spend hours planning their streams, stream for long hours while trying to be entertaining and then handle other management/business stuff outside. Streaming is not just what they are doing for the 8 hours of stream but also trying to build their brands outside of those 8 hours, which everybody wants to. Recently, I get more stressed and drained trying to work on my content than the transactions at the law firm, its not that I work any less, its just the emphasis has changed.

But the underlying point is that these are just not comparable. You can both not care about your 9-5 and be fortunate enough to be at a place where work-life balance is promoted and be extremely stressed and under pressure about your content/streams. Streaming is like trying to build a business (outside of just streaming), and ofcourse in either cases the more bigger and important you get, you get more stress and pressure, because you become increasingly accountable. In streaming since you are working for YOURSELF, you have the accountability kick is way earlier than in a 9-5 jobs, where seniors are largely more accountable at the start. Some people can manage it better than others. But ranting like one is way harder than the other is just unfair and I think quite an uninformed opinion.
