Hello, SWOT! 🛰️
We've successfully acquired the satellite’s signal. Initial telemetry reports show the spacecraft in good health. SWOT will now undergo a series of checks and calibrations before it starts collecting science data in about six months. #TrackingWorldWater
Liftoff! 🚀
SWOT, the first satellite mission that will observe nearly all water on Earth's surface, is headed for orbit. But this is only the beginning. Continue to follow our live broadcast as well as #TrackingWorldWater. Go SWOT!
Getting up-close with the launchpad 👀
The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite is ready for launch atop a @SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. We talked with Christine Gebara, an integration and test engineer, who told us what the teams have been doing to prepare.
The countdown is on! SWOT will proceed toward a target launch of 3:46am PT on Friday, Dec. 16.
🌎 By #TrackingWorldWater, the satellite will help researchers better understand Earth’s freshwater resources, track regional sea level changes, and more. https://t.co/xPNB3ZR8aR
