The culture of honour in the kingdom is extremely powerful, but you shouldn't base it on "external results" but on contribution into your life.

Will a child say that because another person's father has more external results than his parent, therefore give more honour to the outsider?

The son may even have excelled his father multiple times, yet it doesn't change the dynamics of the honour code between them.

Honour those whom God has used to impact your life. You may have been tutored in scriptures by someone in a small town decades ago, and he or she laid the foundation of all happening in your life today. They are unknown and living a simple life with no visible prosperity per se, but they were mightily used of God on your behalf.

That person prayed deep into the nights for you. Today, you are now chasing "big men" for photo ops and giving them honour while you have forgotten those God really used to build you up.

We are not called to spiritual adultery. Act wisely.
