Patterns like how EVERY SINGLE TIME a new export product emerges from Nigeria, it takes a maximum of 20 years for it to end up fully controlled by the same group of American muzungus.

Oil & Gas - Controlled by them from the start

Agric commodities - Controlled by them from the start

Nollywood - Developed independently and built out a vast global market and ingenious distribution system by itself. Today, it is somehow completely hostage to Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube.

Afrobeats - Similar growth story to Nollywood. Now dominated by Lucian Grainge and his new army of male and female 'Afrobeats' artists who look like racially ambiguous K-pop idols.

Outsourcing and Freelancing - Somehow Nigeria doesn't have a single major indigenous BPO provider despite having Africa's deepest a
nd most sought-after talent pool. Market control has ended up in the hands of Andela and Microsoft.

Everytime you people build something, an American muzungu with dollars materialises out of thin air and ends up taking it easy from you either to completely monopolise it and ensure you get zero value from it, or to park it on a shelf somewhere.

If you're cursed with the deadly ability to recognise patterns, you will spot a pattern of predatory behaviour.

But if not, then it's just a coincidence and anyone who notices it is a conspiracy theorist who is jealous of your special relationship with your muzungu dollar blesser.
