there are mornings the practice gives you nothing. the prayer is dry. the work is dead under your hands and the page knows you're faking and the hour returns nothing for the hour you spent. show up to those too. especially those. anyone can keep the discipline on the days it feeds them. the devotion is measured entirely in the days it doesn't, when you tend the fire that's giving no heat and trust that tending is the point even when warmth isn't coming. faith isn't the days it works it's the dry ones.
