@ExplrUpstate So did a few calculations. Adjusted for taxes and inflation, gas prices today would equal gas for .69¢/gal in 1989. So I remember 1989 and gas was around $1 or so.
Side note: I was given a $5/wk gas allowance. Primarily to drive to school.
