Ancient Buddhist Sealing. A small clay disk from Sankisa, India (near Kampil) showing a stupa and a Brahmi inscription. The text is the “Ye Dharma” verse – a 2,000 yr old Buddhist mantra about cause and effect . Likely from 4-5th century CE, it was a votive offering by pilgrims.

1872 Great Britain 1 Shilling Telegraph Postal Stationery Card with the rare SPECIMEN overprint.

Issued shortly after the Post Office took over Britain’s telegraph network, this is far more than postal stationery.

Rare Gupta-era sealing (4th–5th CE) with Brahmi legend:

“śūratratasya sādhasya / jayatrataputrasya”

Hindi: “शूरत्रतस्य सधस्य / जयत्रतपुत्रस्य”

Translation: “Of Śūratrata, son of Sādha, son of Jayatrata.”

This kind of genealogy was often inscribed by landowners, officials, or merchants to establish authority, property rights, or administrative roles. These sealings acted like a stamp of identity in a world without paper documentation.

A timeless echo of lineage, power & prestige in early classical India.
