@EliseStefanik Great post.
I also posted a video on the complete campaign that starts in 1775 in Quebec.
A bit more about the Battles of Saratoga: #BattlesOfSaratoga#BattleOfSaratoga

@HistorySaratoga Great substack. Many of the American leaders had experience in the French & Indian War before the Saratoga Campaign and that cost Burgoyne. Notably at Oriskany, Bennington, and Bemis Heights

@EchoesofWarYT Solid general. Took over the Left Wing of the American Army when he brought reinforcements and Arnold was relieved (quit?). Tough call for him in Charleston. Accepted the Surrender at Yorktown.

@EchoesofWarYT Great maps!
I go over the full campaign from Quebec in 1776 to Valcour, then to the 1777 campaign, including these movements.

@Empireaesth Great picture.
I recently posted a two part youtube on the campaign that lead up to the Battles of Saratoga, that really started in Quebec. https://t.co/CeJ0rvMa96
@watchtower1683@Empireaesth I think you're 100% right.
It seemed to be about: 1. The colony business owners feeling controlled and constricted. 2. It was really getting to be time. (Inevitable)
@LandOfHistory@ThatchGer1@Empireaesth@aroberts_andrew He was a fairly solid European general. Saratoga was Germain's mistake as much as anyone else's. Saratoga was a different kind of campaign and after Fort Ti, the odds were against Burgoyne.
