Brit in America with an interest in current affairs, that's basically it. Views are my own.
Avatar = Willem Arondéus (tell people homosexuals are not cowards).
We can be appalled at George Floyd's death but it was relentlessly pushed in Britain, whether out of COVID boredom or targeted activism but it was used against institutions.
Now we're told not to exploit Henry Nowak, even though his death was partly thanks to post-Floyd politics
Mob rule and vigilante action is often a consequence of law & order breaking down.
It shouldn't be happening but it's a sign that the UK state and leaders have their priorities wrong and shoving post-Floydian activism into society has corrupted "without fear or favour" policing.
Mob rule is wrong & Digwa's family's criminal complicity should be punished by the law not by vigilantes.
But unless the political class seriously addresses the systemic prejudices exposed by Nowak's death and stops demonising Farage instead, this will be the future for Britain.
This really explains a great deal of problems within the British public sector when idealogical and political thinking trumps policing without fear or favour.
🚨 NEW: A number of officers in Hampshire Police, responsible for the arrest of Henry Nowak, said they felt "controlled and pressured to feel certain ways" after receiving mandatory DEI training

Two things can be true: he's a good individual MP and Reform could've handled things with him better, but Restore is also a vanity project that has attracted unsavory types who I suspect will be bitterly disappointed when they discover Lowe isn't a blood & soil ethno-nationalist.
Alec Penstone has passed away at the age of 101
The Royal Navy veteran who served throughout Second World War went viral last year when he said that the sacrifices of his friends who fell in battle “weren’t worth it” because of the current state of the UK
This isn't exactly making the case that two-tier decisions are just right-wing web conspiracy theory and not reality in some situations, and these judges ought to look at the USA and elsewhere in Europe to see "lawfare" tactics against politicians they dislike tend to backfire.
Judge Neil Flewitt has tried to have Nigel Farage prosecuted for pointing out the obvious two-tier justice in the sickening attack on brave police officers at Manchester Airport.
He then presided over a historic miscarriage of justice.
A Reform government will wield the power of Parliament to remove this unfit and disgraceful judge from office.
Unfortunately the Manchester Airport incident not only shows the flaws in our system where people will make two-tier legal decisions, I fear it'll make the case for abolishing jury trials look all the more convincing.
Jury trials and English common law are two ideas we contributed to the world that I am proud of.
However, Kuan Yew was correct that they work best in more culturally and socially homogeneous countries where people act without bias or favour towards ethnic or political tribalism.

Lee Kuan Yew abolished trial by jury in Singapore after determining that it was too easy for defence lawyers to appeal to racial and religious biases of juries in multicultural Singapore.
He writes in his memoirs how as a young lawyer he was able to get three clients acquitted who he was sure did commit murder. LKY writes that he "worked on the weaknesses of the jury -- their biases, their prejudices, their reluctance really to find four Muslims guilty of killing in cold blood or in a heat of great passion, religious passion, an RAF officer, his wife and child."
He writes "The judge was thoroughly disgusted. I went home feeling quite sick because I knew I'd discharged my duty as required of me, but I knew I had done wrong.”
Study after study shows that in multi ethnic societies, there is significant in-group bias on juries.
I respect Lowe as an individual MP and I know parties can't always account for the behaviour of all of their members, but Restore has a following from some very bizarre online types and I suspect they'll be dissatisfied when they discover that Lowe isn't a Mosley style fascist.
🚨 Restore supporters love talking tough online.
But when I walked into the pub in Makerfield on Saturday where they were all meeting…
…a mixed-race bloke wearing a Reform UK hat…
…none of them dared to say a single word to me.
That’s the reality with most of these people.
Big talk online. Weak little incels in real life 😉
Like I've said before these people are weird and yes, often mentally unbalanced.
It's not about Israel but anything remotely associated with Jewish people sends them into an unhinged frenzy. They need help.
Labour, Greens, Your Party (and yes they'll never stand anyone before they fold by the next GE) may dislike each other behind closed doors and have bonkers policies, but they know how to work tactically.
That's something parties on the right can't do and fall into personal spats
The problem Labour (and also the Tories) have isn't one leader. Starmer is part of a greater political ecosystem that causes the problems; managed decline is a virtue, overly dependent on international interests from treaties to organisations over bolstering domestic capabilities
People often tell me that Andy Burnham is a nice guy and more engaging to listen to than Keir Starmer. This is correct, but Burnham is also a slippery politician who will say one thing when it is convenient for him, even if he believes the total opposite in private. He is absolutely untrustworthy.
As (pardon me saying it but as the kids would put it) retarded as the left can be idealogically, they win because they know how to think collectively and tactically while the right tends to implode into egoism, but this is going to be very interesting indeed.
This photo from Burnham's campaign launch captures how absolutely bizarre the Makerfield by-election is going to be politically.
Left holding the banner, Johnny Reynolds, who as chief whip is in charge of making sure Keir Starmer remains prime minister and his agenda is delivered.
Centre, Andy Burnham, who is declaring a vote for Labour is a vote to change Labour... by which he is universally read to mean ditching Keir Starmer.
Even the Prime Minister himself is promising to campaign for a candidate who is coming to Westminster to replace him.
Has there ever been a by-election like this??
Just a reminder that Hope Not Hate hired Liron Woodcock-Velleman, who has been convicted of sending explicit texts and images to a 13-year-old girl.
A disgusting organisation which should not be taken seriously.
Here is an old clip of Liron, can’t say he didn’t warn us.
Like or loathe Maggie Thatcher she at least knew how to shoot down hecklers.
I understand getting yelled at isn't pleasant by any means, but Reeves' snotty reply shows how insulated some politicians have become from unscripted public interactions.
What struck me when I visited Israel is it's a lot less like a typical Western country than outsiders think; certainly parts of it have a very European vibe (more the architecture than people) but I was surprised by how ethnically diverse it was - almost like Singapore on the Med
Israel is more multicultural and diverse than any country in the region.
Walk in Tel Aviv for an hour and you'll see Jews and Muslims, Blacks and Whites, West and East. You'll hear Hebrew, English, Arabic, French, Hindu, Thai and Farsi. You'll pass mosques, churches, synagogues and even a scientology center. You'll smell every kind of cuisine in the world and hear 20 kinds of music.
Not having totally open borders doesn't mean being xenophobic. It means being open responsibly. It means taking the best of the world and keeping out the worst of the world.
These idiots have no idea what they're talking about.
If he tweeted heinous stuff that's one thing, but Kemi Badenoch's selling point is being an "anti-woke" politician. It's not exactly helping optics of consistency when the Tories hop on the cancel culture train and play the Lib Dem-ish "holier than thou" image.
The average working class tradesman will have views much closer to Robert Kenyon than Andy Burnham.
The fact that journalists, Labour and even some Tories are pretending to be horrified over nothing just shows how out of touch they are.
Same political mistakes repeated over and over again:
Cameron re EU referendum, unprepared and resigned when the vote didn't go his way.
Theresa May: called an election to increase seats, only to see them reduced.
Removing Boris, removing Truss, appointing Sunak, resulting in a collapse in the Tory Party.
Now Streeting has a hold my beer moment, deciding to make the Labour leadership contest a 2nd EU referendum, seemingly without a referendum? Nigel Farage must think it's his birthday.
