• Method: While observing Saturn, he noticed a bright point orbiting the planet
• Significance:
Saturn’s largest moon and the first new moon discovered since Galileo’s discovery of Jupiter’s four moons in 1610.
Today, Titan is known as a world of its own with a thick nitrogen-methane atmosphere, and rivers, lakes, and even rain made of liquid methane.
