• Interested in Culture, art, writing, publishing?
• Got a desire to communicate issues to the world?
• Do you want to bring your passion for radical histories to life?
• How about learning how to get your message across?
A Space for Us have devised an exciting hands-on, in-person work experience opportunity which gives you access to cultural and social capital through a small museum of radical histories in Somers Town. You’ll gain valuable real-life experience by designing and producing your very own zines.
You will have the chance to experience real world work based around creative and literary subjects giving you the opportunity to exercise work skills, facilitated by professionals with over 25 years in commercial publishing.
When: 27th - 31st October (Half Term Week)
Times: 11am - 5pm
Where: People’s Museum, 52 Phoenix Road NW1 1ES (as well as archives in NW1 / WC2)
Who: Young people aged 16-19 years from Somers Town or Camden areas

Explore the rich and often overlooked histories of Bangladeshi diaspora in London through women’s embroidery, bedspreads, collages, and folk-art inspired needlework.
Doors open 6pm - Bangladeshi snacks and drinks available on donation
Embroidery workshop/sari wearing demonstration 6.30pm
Singing folk songs & Social from 7.30pm
The Pearly Sari features individual button embroidery panels combining British working class Pearly King/Queen heritage with Sylheti embroidery folk design, highlighting both cultural significance and personal creative expression.
