The argument that anger over inflation is unjustified because one time decades before you were born inflation was worse is like saying labor strikes are unjustified because we used to have factory towns and children fixed boilers and zero labor laws.
@PeterMoskos Total agree and it’s despicable every time I see something like this and someone expresses joy over such a horrible act. I may disagree with someone’s opinions but I don’t want anyone to die
@Martina You mustn't be so cynical, Martina. The delay's probably because he got accidentally buried in the stack of files in which he keeps his evidence.
@NBCNews@JamieRJN LGBTQ groups and apparently NBC News approve of jail time for mere free speech and verbal expression.
This is more dangerous than anything that happened in the House of Representatives tonight.
I avoid using the word for a number of reasons, but the idea that “woke” carries the subtext of an “older term that I won't say, but that ends in ‘lover’” is among the dumbest, most offensively paternalistic, white-savior goddamn opinions I’ve seen in a minute. My god.
The gentleman might want to supply examples of the horrendous, horrifying, disgusting things I’ve said about trans people. Sounds as though there are loads, so he should have plenty to choose from. Hopefully he won’t suffer the usual attack of delete-itis when challenged.
@wesyang This is a teacher’s perspective, mind you. Obviously there’s going to be variations from school to school and I have my own views on standards lowering (but that is more on how kids are funneled through the system regardless of mastery)
@wesyang This NYT comment is 100% complete horseshit. Kids still get suspended, AP classes definitively still exist, there are definitely still screened schools etc.
