Our new First Year students have decided on their new class names. The chosen theme was 'Islands of Ireland'. They have chosen:
1. Aran
2. Inis Mór
3. Valentia
4. Achill
Lots of options for a 3rd Year trip to choose from.
Well done to the students on their research.
Another insightful episode into Ireland's changing economy and society tonight on @BuildIrelandRTE. Ireland led the way in its development down in Shannon, Co. Clare.

In the rural Ireland of the 1950s, apartment living was an entirely new concept.
In the new town of Shannon, @ESBGroup even issued pamphlets on the culture shock of moving into an all-electrical home!

Our wonderful @BlakestownCS history students are working superbly online. We have 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Years working on course work. We have 2nd Years on CBA 1 and we have 6th Years engaging in live classes for the LC. Well done to everyone (students, parents and teachers).
One of our activities this week is called 'Spot a Sports Skill'. Everyone has a match/competition that stands out in their mind for a particular moment of skill. Share the video from Youtube in a tweet and tag us. Comment on the skill that made it a moment of magic. @BlakestownCS
One moment that stands out in Irish Sport is the goal vs Germany in the 2002 World Cup.
1. Spacial Awareness
2. Anticipation
3. Instinctive run off the target man
4. Good touch
5. Coolness in front of goal

Another fantastic effort from our History students last week. They did powerpoints, word documents, posters or simply did the tasks in their copy and uploaded a picture. The work was really well done. Have a lovely Easter Holidays everyone. Here are last weeks History stars:
