February 19th,1942. The Japanese air fleet,under the command of Mitsuo Foutsida attacked the Australian city of Darwin. It was the largest foreign attack that has ever been taken place in Australia, although the Japanese didn't invade the island.
February 18th,1898. One of the best drivers of the 20th century and founder of Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari is born. He didn't only manage to win multiple races but created a company which 80 years later is still at the top.
February 17th,1863. The Swiss humanitarian Henry Dunant with four other men founded the international first aid committee , which later became famous as the Red Cross. It's flag is exactly the opposite of the Swiss, cause all of them were from Geneva.
February 16th,1923. The archeologist Howard Carter opens the tomb of pharaoh Tutankhamen. The tomb was found in the valley of the kings and inside it were three sarcophagus, the one inside the other. The last sarcophagus,were Tutankhamen was,was made completely out of pure gold.

February 13th,1945. More than 700 American and British airplanes threw 500 tones of explosive bombs and 200.000 incendiaries bombs over the city of Dresden. During the three day bombardment 25.000 civilians lost their lives and 2.5 square miles were destroyed.

February 8th,1904.While the Russian fleet anchored in Port Arthur, at night a group of Japanese destroyers attacked them. This attack on the Manchurian port started the Russo-Japanese war. The war ended with a Japanese victory. The loss meant the decline of the Russian Empire.
