I don't fly, so you would never see me renting a helicopter or plane.
I get seasick, so you would never see me buying boats anymore.
I don't eat trash food, so you wouldn't see me playing foodie for envy.
I don't see anyone as competition, so I smile and laugh when the biggest and the largest go into rage fits for my amusement.
Without much effort... they show you who they are when under pressure.
I was asked how to overcome anxiety and fear of losing trades...
For thing we must do is to remind ourselves that we alone are the one in control of entering trades. Risk is nonexistent, until we are in a position. We must have a sound model in which we employ with our trades... not impulsive hunches or copying someone else.
We must control greed and this is by limiting the number of trades we are permitting ourselves in any given metric, e.g. - per week, day or session.
We must know our self, what causes us to go off the rails, or gives us too much of an ego driven mania. This can only be discovered in a systematic desensitization process of deleveraged executions with a single model, away from the witness and influence of anyone else.
Learning to be content with enough. As humans, we tend to covet what others have or can do. Accept the fact that you are learning to read the market well, over time.
It does not happen for everyone quickly and it is absolutely normal for you to feel as if it is taking longer than you want.
Submit to it and the time you personally require. This is self-control, not denial of success.
There are no shortcuts, no matter how anyone else markets it or promises.
"Slow is smooth, smooth is fast."
Homework Assignment:
Add up your monthly expenses, as best you can.
Take that monthly expense figure and divide it by 4.
This is your job now, find price runs on 1 contract that yield that figure.
Your back testing should incorporate this view, as it helps put purpose behind your study.
Until you see how often the market lays it at your feet, you will pursue big numbers for big numbers sake only.
There must be a realistic purpose and logic behind your actions and inaction in trading and the development stage is no exception to this rule.
@AdamWTrades This is precisely what a Highly Focused & Successful Mindset is... never adopting the perspective that you can't go higher or improve more.
33 years and I am not at my highest capabilities or skill... yet.
Use it as fuel.
One of the benefits of trading in the first 2.5 days of NFP week... you get to go into the circus already paid and witness everyone else do it wrong on the latter half.
Get your pound of meat and be content.
Be safe.
I have learned in this life, the more people try to talk you out of doing it, the more they try to explain how it can't happen like you envisioned it... the more you need to dig your heels in and remove their influence over you.
Everyone else retired broke, or still works.
Remember this.
34 years ago, from today...
I was working 6 days a week. My net pay, per week, was less than $300.00. I was single, recently divorced and no children.
I was sick of the rat race, being broke, tired of being tired of it all.
Then Trading walked back into the chat...
@VinicioSenador@YeniBerenice Una confesión no es una prueba.
Creo que hay una laguna jurídica en Dominicana en ese tema.
La ley por eso debe sustentarse en pruebas materiales, porque la coacción contamina los casos.
In time, in good time, you will learn the skill that enables you to see the significant intraday price run and be content with that, as "enough".
As you were...
For now, replace your desire to trade precision and low stop loss executions.
Focus on the meat and take a pound and walk away.
This is all you need and can sustain you and your family.
Overtime, you refine your craft... but learn to eat while doing so.
