Senator Graham’s name and legacy will endure through his lifelong commitment to public service, his dedication to the security of the United States and its allies, and his steadfast support for those around the world who have struggled for freedom, democracy, and human dignity.

For many Kurdish political movements and Iran’s democratic opposition, Senator Graham was a respected voice who possessed a deep understanding of the oppression and repression exercised by authoritarian regimes. He consistently demonstrated concern for those striving for freedom and justice. His principled leadership and unwavering commitment to these values earned him the admiration and respect of freedom-loving people.

As we share in the grief of his family, colleagues, friends, the devoted staff of Senator Graham’s office, and all those who had the honor of serving alongside him in the cause of freedom and human rights, we sincerely hope that his legacy of public service, courage, and dedication to noble ideals will continue to inspire future generations.

Iran’s terrorist IRGC carried out another drone attack against a PDKI facility in Koya.

While no party members were harmed, the attack caused material damage. This latest act of aggression reflects Tehran’s continued policy of targeting Kurdish opposition organizations instead of addressing the democratic demands of the people of Iran.

Last night the Islamic Republic of Iran launched another drone attack on PDKI’s Jejnikan camp. The camp has been struck repeatedly since late February. Yesterday nights attack came shortly after two Iranian drones hit Komala’s camps in Zrgwêzela.

The Alliance of Political Parties of Iranian Kurdistan strongly condemns the execution of Kurdish political activists Yaghoub Karimpour and Naser Bakrzadeh by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

These executions are part of a widening wave of executions targeting political and civil activists across Iran. As the regime in Tehran faces mounting political and strategic failures at home and abroad, it resorts to violence to mask its weakness.

The Islamic Republic answers every call for rights, freedom, and equality with arrests, torture, and the executions. Today, the entire political geography of Iran has been turned into a vast prison for those who dare to dissent.

Resorting to executions is a sign of the regime’s weakness, not its strength.

The Alliance calls on international human rights organizations and the conscience of the free world to break their silence and exert comprehensive pressure to stop this wave of executions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s terrorist IRGC attacked a civilian camp belonging to the PdKI near Koya with drones.

The strike follows an attack earlier the same day against Komala in the Surdash Camp, near Sulaymaniyah.

Since the outset of Iran’s conflict with the United States and Israel, the Islamic Republic has attacked the PDKI more than 110 times with missiles and drones in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Speaking to Voice of America, Kawa Bahrami, Head of the Central Command of Kurdistan’s Peshmerga Forces, underlined that the PDKI and the Peshmerga Forces have not been a party to the US-Iran war, but that the regime in Iran continues to target Kurdish civilians and Peshmerga Forces. “We will no longer accept these attacks,” he said. “We will respond by whatever means we deem appropriate.”

Bahrami also drew a clear distinction between the Kurdish struggle and the broader US-Iran confrontation, emphasising that the Kurdish cause is rooted in the national rights of the Kurdish people, independent of the interests of the United States or any other state.

The Kurdistan Peshmerga Force Command issued a statement Friday underscoring that legitimate defense is their fundamental right, following renewed Islamic Republic drone and missile attacks on PDKI civilian camps and Peshmerga units.

The statement came after Iranian strikes killed two Peshmergas and the son of a Peshmerga in the latest of a series of attacks that have now exceeded 118 missile and drone strikes against PDKI bases over the past six weeks.

The Peshmerga Command stated that the Islamic Republic’s continuous aggression have left the Peshmerga Forces with no choice but to assert its right to respond. The strikes, carried out even during an active ceasefire between Iran, the United States, and Israel, targeted not only Peshmerga forces but civilian families, schools, hospitals, and medical facilities.

The Peshmerga Command also sends its deepest condolences to the families and fellow fighters of the fallen Peshmerga, and all the people of Kurdistan. The statement also underlines that the Peshmerga Forces assure the people of Kurdistan that the Islamic Republic’s cowardly attacks only strengthen their resolve and that they should be confident in the will of the Peshmerga Forces. With the unwavering support of the Kurdish people, we will continue our struggle and continue the path of all our martyrs.

At the event on 17–18 April, the Progressive Alliance brought together progressive leaders from across the globe- in dialogue, in solidarity, and in common purpose. Hijri participated as one of the key speakers during the “PA Global Connect” session, representing the Iranian Kurdish opposition.

Dear friends, dear comrades!

Thank you for this opportunity. It is an honor to stand before a gathering of progressives who understand that the struggle for democracy in one country is the struggle for democracy
everywhere.

I bring you greetings from the Kurds in Iran. A nation that has resisted dictatorship for nearly half a century, and who have been at the forefront of a struggle for democracy in
Iran.

Comrades,
The world speaks of Iran in the language of nuclear files and oil prices. It rarely speaks of the Kurds, the Baluch, the Arabs of Ahwaz, the women in Evin prison, the workers whose strikes are crushed, the torture, the executions, or the mass slaughter of peaceful protesters.

Iran is a torture prison for its citizens, and peace or stability for the region or the world is not possible without a democratic future. Recognizing this truth should be the priority of progressive forces all around the world.

With the Iran–US war reshaping the Middle East, the danger to our party and the Kurdish people has never been higher. We face threats not only from the regime in Iran, but also from its proxy groups in the region. Since late February, Iran has attacked our party close to 100 times with ballistic missiles and drones. The attacks against camps run by our party have been indiscriminate, targeting hospitals, schools, civilian homes, and water and electricity supplies.

In the middle of all this, our challenge is to place the future of all of Iran’s different nations at the Centre of the international conversation, before others decide our fate without us.

To do this, we must present an alternative to the regime. In February, together with other Kurdish political parties we founded the Alliance of Political Parties of Iranian Kurdistan. We are also engaging other political groups in the broader Iranian opposition.

This is done with the hope of building a democratic alternative worthy of the sacrifices of all the people in Iran who have been killed, imprisoned and tortured by this regime. This is our most important task, and you can all play an important role in this process.

We do not come asking for charity. We ask for solidarity, the kind that progressives once gave to the ANC in South Africa by doing these three things, concretely.

First, political recognition. Raise our voice in your parliaments, in the European Parliament and at the United Nations. Ask what about the Kurds? What about political prisoners? What about the executions? Do not engage in silent diplomacy with this regime, it only plays in the hands of the regime by giving it legitimacy.

Second، demand accountability for the cross-border attacks on Kurdish political refugees in Iraqi Kurdistan. These are war crimes against people under international protection. Your parties can move resolutions. Your government can impose costs.

Third, partnership. Invite us into your policy work on Iran, on the Middle East, on democratic transitions. Share expertise with our party and our younger members. Invite our experts on Iran related matters. Host our activists. Translate our voices. Treat the PDKI not as a distant cause, but as what we are, your sister party, a social-democratic party with a century-long tradition, fighting the same fight you are fighting, only on harder ground.

The Islamic Republic will fall. The only question is when and what rises in its place. Help us ensure that what rises is democratic, federal, pluralist, and not just, for Kurds, for all Iranians, and for the region.

At the European Parliament today, PDKI Leader Mustafa Hijri delivered a clear message: Iran is not a monolithic nation state. It is a multinational country with distinct nations and identities, and lasting democracy depends on recognizing this reality.

He also emphasized ”from the PDKI’s perspective, the transition to democracy in Iran will never be complete until all national identities are formally recognized. This cannot be reduced to “minority rights” or “citizenship rights.” National identity itself must be acknowledged.

Since the founding of the modern Iranian state, these national identities have lived under the shadow of mono-national chauvinism. This is the root cause of most of Iran’s enduring crises.

Those labeled “minorities” are in fact the majority in their own ancestral lands. Kurds, and other nations within Iran’s borders, are the rightful peoples of their territories, not guests within someone else’s country.

The international community must not once again enable the construction of another centralized, chauvinistic state in Iran under a new name.

In Kurdistan, we have organized within the Alliance of political Parties of Iranian Kurdistan. Since 2003, we have also built the Congress of Nationalities for a Federal Iran, in order to present the genuine image of Iran as a multi-national, multi-cultural country.

Real change in Iran requires an inclusive front in which all identities see themselves represented. Without it, another regime in the mold of the Islamic Republic will emerge, and once again become a source of instability for the region and the world.

The path forward is a democratic, federal, and secular Iran: a civil state that is not the instrument of one nation, but the coordinator and servant of all. Gatherings like today’s at the European Parliament can mark the beginning of seeing the true Iran.”

In a statement the Alliance of Political Parties of Iranian Kurdistan adress the latest attack against its member parties by underlining that the Islamic Republic of Iran has once again violated the territorial sovereignty of the Kurdistan Region, conducting drone strikes against camps housing political refugees from Iranian Kurdistan.

The fact that these attacks were carried out during an active ceasefire reaffirms what the international community has long observed: a regime whose survival depends on repression, violence, and terror, and which has never engaged in good faith with peace or political dialogue. These strikes are not a demonstration of strength. They are a symptom of a regime cornered by the will of the Kurdish people and by its own deepening political and military impasse.

In the most recent wave of attacks, the PDKI’s Azadi camp and Komala Zahmatkeshan’s Surdash camp were struck. Two Peshmerga were wounded, and Ghazal Mulan, a female Peshmerga of Komala Zahmatkeshan, was martyred.

The deliberate targeting of civilian residences and refugee facilities constitutes a clear violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions. The Alliance calls on the Federal Government of Iraq, the United States, and the United Nations to move beyond condemnation and take concrete measures to halt these aggressions, which violate the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and openly defy the international legal order.

Tehran should understand that terror, intimidation, and drone warfare will not break the will of a nation pursuing its legitimate rights. These attacks will only deepen the unity of Kurdistan’s political forces and people in their struggle to end oppression and occupation. Renewing our pledge to the martyrs of the path to freedom, the Alliance reaffirms its commitment to continued struggle until the fall of the Islamic Republic and the realization of our people’s national rights.

The Islamic Republic of Iran carried out a drone attack against a civilian PDKI camp near Degala. This marks the fifth attack on this camp. The camp is home to civilian families of PDKI members.

The attack follows a wave of Iranian attacks yesterday targeting PDKI’s Azadi Camp near Koya, the Sorda Camp near Sulaymaniyah, and several locations in Khalifan and Rawandiz in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The attack in Sulaymaniyah resulted in the martyrdom of Ghazal Mawlan, a Peshmerga of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan (Zahmatkeshan), and the wounding of two additional Peshmerga.

Since the outbreak of hostilities between Iran, the United States and Israel, the Islamic Republic has launched more than 110 missiles and drones against PDKI family camps, medical facilities and educational centres on the territory of the Kurdistan Region.

The Alliance pf Political Parties of Iranian Kurdistan condemned these strikes as a direct violation of the Kurdistan Region’s political sovereignty, affirming that terror, intimidation and drone warfare will not weaken the will of the Kurdish nation to secure its legitimate rights, and will only deepen the unity of Kurdistan’s political forces and people in the struggle to end oppression.

PDKI calls on the international community, the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government to hold the Islamic Republic accountable for its repeated aggression against civilian sites on sovereign Iraqi and Kurdistani soil.

In a second speech at the European Parliament, PDKI leder Mustafa Hijri addressed the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, calling for a democratic, federal, and secular alternative to Iran’s theocratic regime. Speaking in Kurdish, a deliberate assertion of a language long suppressed in Iran, Hijri framed his choice as an act of recognition for Iran’s denied nations.

Hijri described Iran’s crisis as structural: a non-civic state that has repeatedly blocked freedom, first under the monarchy’s forced Persianization and later through the religious monopolism of the Islamic Republic. He warned that the current regime poses not only a domestic but a global threat, citing its record of repression and violence as evidence of an authoritarian system beyond reform.

Presenting the PDKI’s vision, Hijri argued that true stability and unity in Iran depend on democracy, federalism, and secular governance, principles proven in diverse nations worldwide. He underscored that federalism safeguards, rather than endangers, territorial integrity by granting all peoples a genuine stake in a shared future.

Hijri also underlined that the Kurdish movement’s enduring ideals—Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Woman, Life, Freedom), as a moral foundation for building a free and peaceful Iran rooted in justice and equality among its nations.
