@Jawar_Mohammed The war was so unpopular from the get go largely due to the lived experience of wide section of Tigrayan society; little to do with the work of these young men, in my view.
Just out of curiosity, are you trying to draw some parallel with the Kerro?
@reda_getachew@EUSR_Weber@EUinEthiopia Unfettered access to humanitarian aid, particularly to war torn places- Tigray, Afar etc- should be top priority to save lives and to lessen human suffering.
@reda_getachew I don't think Eritreans are know for miscalculations; rather Asmara takes calculated risk. We can only arguably say the risk appetite is high there.
Instead, it is the TPLF- your former party- that is famous for miscalculations.
Credit where due sir๐
@awolallo Isias's Eritrea rode the tidal wave of East Africa partly because of Meles Zenawi's appeasement policy-first by halting ETH army's advance during 1998-20 war and by following the so called containment policy for 2 decades.
Now Isias is alone to face the full force of ETH.
@SirakBahlbi Asmara has been meddling on ETH's internal affairs over the past 30 years-by way of direct aggression, indirectly through third party spoilers or a combination of the two.
There are ample & credible evidences to back this up.
That is wrong if ETH plans to hit back?
@reda_getachew Good Isias has joined the war so openly.
Ethiopia has now all the justifications at hand to defend itself.
Ethiopia's perennial enemy since 1961 has to be dealt with once and for all.
@Jawar_Mohammed Further restraint on Addis Ababa's side could be read as a weaness on part of Asmara- a regime that deeply believes in jangle 'mighty is right' rule.
Time has come for Ethiopia to deal with its enernal enemy once and for all.
Meles was too soft on Isias-Abiy should never be so.
@WilliamsRuto There is a saying in one of the languages of Ethiopia: 'one who runs alone can't be beaten'.
Having removed his real political opponents out of the way, he was able to run alone and the results were only foregone conclusions.
To say the least, this is hypocrisy, Sir.
@DrMehari The whole of Tigray and its people are taken hostage by TPLF/TDF politico-military oligarch.
Though in principle the said personalities shouldn't be subject to arbitrary detention(worst extrajudicial killing), are they not harvesting the fruits of their own political greed?
@Jawar_Mohammed I seriously doubt your integrity and honestly on this point.
From the bottom of your heart or just a lip service?
We know PP's tacitly followed policy is to drain the sea in order to catch the fish. Are you any difficult?
@Jawar_Mohammed Tigray is suffering from lack of elite unity, cohesive leadership and popular support to war efforts.
So, ENDF is likely to prevail and TPLF to adopt guerrilla warfare; albeit with limited capacity.
Does Abiy want to see stable and autonomous post war Tigray?
NO.
@Jawar_Mohammed I honestly don't think the resurfacing of GA-not sure if there are evidences to back this up in the first place- will make much of a difference.
The whole house seems to be too obsolete to hold.
@reda_getachew@YouTube I wish we could avoid another round of devastating civil war among Ethiopians and combine our energies to deal with our country's perennial enemy: Shaebia of Eritrea.
@reda_getachew US diplomatic support to avert another devastating war in Ethiopia is of huge importance.
Our people can't shoulder another senseless war.
@AbiyAhmedAli There is one lesson you could possibly draw from india as the world's biggest democracy: how to keep a diversified country in peace.
Everything else you mentioned above is too luxurious to listen to at the moment.
@TiborPNagyJr The worst possible mediator on this issue is Donald Trump who sadly spreads falsehood and partiality-example saying US funed the dam, Egypt can blow the dam etc.
No nation calling itself mediator can go lower than this point.
#Ethiopia needs peace, not more war.
For three years, armed conflict in Amhara has cost countless lives. Oromia continues to bleed. Tigray teeters back into open fighting, Afar has been drawn in, and Benishangul-Gumuz remains gripped by violence too.
Enough. I urge the federal government and all regional leaders to choose dialogue over guns, and to pursue real political solutions. War only brings death, destruction, displacement, and deprivation. Ethiopians deserve better.
