But Kubo himself planned Orihime as Ichigo's love interest since the pilot chapter. He's always been consistent about this, and IchiHime being canon proves it.

maybe it’s because her rikka allows her to restore spiritual pressure as well but orihime is one of the best characters at sensing spiritual pressure and any changes in it as we see here and even during byakuya vs. ichigo all the way back in soul society.
