早前，一名香島中學學生因於網上教學軟件的頭像上展示抗爭口號，隨即遭學校緊急會面並停課一星期。校方稱如學生有意回校上課，需接受兩個大過懲處，更表示日後若發現該名學生再參與社運，會開除學籍。今日香島中學向家長發聲明，其中最爲驚訝的信息是校方說明對於該名學生的懲處是「愛之深責之切」
