They came in civilian clothes.
No uniform. No badge. Just cold eyes and the sound of engines outside the house at 2 pm.🚔

That is how many Kenyan families describe the moment their sons, brothers, or daughters disappeared under this government.

June 2024. Rex Masai, 29, was shot in the thigh in the CBD while running from tear gas. He bled out. A plain-clothes officer was later named. His mother still waits for justice that has never arrived.

Then came the wave. Young faces on WhatsApp groups one day, missing the next. Mothers searching mortuaries with photos. Fathers checking every unmarked vehicle. KNCHR and rights groups counted dozens of enforced disappearances.

Some came back dumped on roadsides, broken and terrified. Others never came back at all.

Albert Ojwang, a teacher and blogger, was arrested by DCI officers and was dead in Central Police Station within hours. The autopsy spoke of torture. The streets burned again. More bodies. More silence.

And still, the numbers kept climbing, over a hundred police killings in most years, with young men in Nairobi the main targets.

Then came June 2026. All Saints Cathedral. A peaceful budget forum. Hired goons on motorbikes. CCTV caught everything.

One of the captured men later confessed that police in civilian clothes were inside the group, giving orders and directing the attack on ordinary Kenyans inside a church.

This is no longer just "excessive force."
This is a system where the same people sworn to protect you can put on plain clothes, climb into unmarked cars, and decide who lives, who disappears, and who gets paid to attack the rest.

The mothers are still waiting.
The files are still open.
The fear is still real.

The law is the law. It does not matter for how long the law has been violated. Article 138(1) & (2) of the Constitution, on the Procedure at presidential election, categorically provides:
(1) If only one candidate for President is nominated, that candidate shall be declared elected.
(2) If two or more candidates for President are nominated, an election shall be held in each constituency.
Voting at elections is conducted as provided under Article 86, which provides:

86. At every election, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries
Commission shall ensure that-

(a) whatever voting method is used, the system is simple, accurate, verifiable, secure, accountable and transparent;

(b) the votes cast are counted, tabulated and the results announced promptly by the presiding officer at each polling station;

(c) the results from the polling stations are openly and accurately collated and promptly announced by the returning officer; and (d) appropriate structures and mechanisms to eliminate electoral malpractice are put in place, including the safekeeping of election materials.

From the law above, there is no way the results for the Presidential elections cannot be announced at the Constituency as required by the Constitution. #ReKe #GetitDone #KnowYourConstitution
