Bird collisions with buildings represent a significant conservation issue. More than one billion birds die annually in the United States from collisions with glass. Since the glass was first treated at Robinson, the center has seen an approximately 80% decrease in fatal strikes.
We recently completed a project to install bird protection film on the windows at Rec and Parks HQ that is designed to reduce the chances of fatal bird strikes. The project mimics one recently completed at Robinson Nature Center, where 4,000 sq/ft of windows were treated.
Roger Carter Community Center will have a delayed opening on Friday, April 17 due to repairs. We are scheduled to reopen by 10am on April 17. Please call the status line for updates: 410-313-2764 (option 3)
