A Mimi published book is coming soon!
Volume 1 will contain the first 149 Mimi comic.
The book will first be available in person at the @jastusa booth at Anime NYC. If you can't be there, don't worry! It will become available online soon after.
Thank you all for supporting Mimi, I never thought this silly comic would get this far.
I’m happy to show off my Gauge 1 RWS Thomas! This is my first Gauge 1 model that I’ve made and I’m so happy with how he turned out! Thank you @LazyTerrier for the body and @R2D2fan107 for letting me put the original Great Discovery Thomas face!
I’m proud to reveal my new props! Thomas’ face, Mollys prototype face, and the billboard! Come down to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania this weekend to see it and our other props on display!
@TrainMaster_36@cooldude7208 There's probably alot of reasons why people do it. Some do it to make their replicas more accurate to the real thing Others do it to learn how they did it originally.
While 3d printing and CNC are available some just want their models to be more authentic.
@TrainMaster_36@cooldude7208 you don't need to do that if you don't want to, however most G1 modellers go for accuracy and therefore search for them. They aren't necessarily hard to find just hard to find on conventional sites like ebay.
@TrainMaster_36@cooldude7208 that's up to the individual of course. i can certainly understand not wanting to spend loads of money on a loco in good condition for custom use.
@CyclesDaProto@cooldude7208 that's up to the individual. It's the same as kit-bashing a locomotive in OO/HO. Plus sometimes it's cheaper to get the real thing than getting a new custom cnc chassis/wheels that won't be 100% accurate to the real thing.
@steam_attack@cooldude7208 there aren't any companies producing these locos in G1 other than märklin. The closest you'll get is piko and even their br80 is far from the märklin one.
