Happy Birthday to Tom Awad, one of the forefathers of hockey analytics.
Joyeux anniversaire à Tom Awad, l'un des ancêtres de l'analyse du hockey.
(L to R/G à D: Rob Vollman, @timoseppa , @TomAwad)
10 years ago we released this little beauty. Where does the time go?
Such an honour and pleasure to have worked with @TomAwad and @IainFyffe on this.

Alan Ryder's groundbreaking hockey analytics work from 2004 to 2009 is also still available, including the creation of Expected Goals (XG) in January 2004, and the 10 Laws of Hockey Analytics from January 2008. Still truly remarkable and fascinating work.

Tore Purdy's groundbreaking hockey analytics work from 2008 to 2011 is still available, for those who are interested.
It's remarkable how it has stood up the test of time, and interesting to see future Directors and AGMs in the comments section.

Enjoying some warm weather off season down time drinks after lots of games in cold rinks
Featuring some thought provoking reading about interpreting numbers
@HockeyAbstract helps people like me who think ‘math is hard, and I’m not all that bright’
February 2015, some notable hockey analytics writers got together for breakfast in Ottawa. @HockeyAbstract@Cane_Matt Tom Awad @coreypronman among others.
Decided to finally pick up and read Rob Volman’s fantastic book Stat Shot with @HockeyAbstract. While the book is not recent, it perhaps has never been more relevant. An important reminder that in hockey it’s not the stats themselves that are important, but how you interpret them
Remember to get a copy of my new and first book. The goal is to get more people interested in hockey analytics, so money shouldn’t be an issue (which is why it’s just 5$).
If you’re strapped tight for cash right now, send a DM and we’ll figure something out.
I've just published my first ever book and you should buy it because:
1) It's a great book!
2) You'll help support my continued work.
3) It's just 5$

I finished the first chapter of my book about hockey statistics.
DM me if you're interested in reading it and giving a bit of feedback. You don't need to know much about statistics. In fact, it would be nice to get feedback from someone new to hockey analytics.
I worked with @RyanKruse when we were with the Cubs, and lots of y'all know about Rob from @HockeyAbstract . Good people. Seems like a great job for someone out there. Say you "heard it from Tango"... might not help, but definitely won't hurt.
