In honor of #FlagDay this Sunday, 6/14, DYK #HoCoMD you can dispose of old, worn, or tattered American flags at @HoCoRecycles' Alpha Ridge Landfill's Residents' Convenience Center? Residents can stop by the Center, located at 2350 Marriottsville Rd, #MarriottsvilleMD & open M-Sat, 8 am-4 pm, where they will find a Flag Retirement drop-off container set up by the American Legion Adams, Hanna, Moore Memorial Post 156. In accordance w/ US Flag Code, the Legion takes the collected flags & disposes of them in a dignified fashion in coordination w/ local Scout troops. Since the program’s inception in 2015, more than 4,000 American flags have respectfully been retired.

In developing its “Elkridge Sustainable Community: Draft Action Plan”, @HoCoGov DPW has worked closely w/ #HoCoMD's #ElkridgeMD community to shape the plan. REMINDER: @CommuteHoward & @HoCoGov DPW to host open house-style public mtg tomorrow, 6/9, 4-6 pm at Grace Community Church, 8200 Old Columbia Rd, #FultonMD, to present concept plans & preliminary analysis results of the traffic calming evaluation conducted along Maple Lawn Blvd ahead of new Flash Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) extension that is expected to generate more pedestrian traffic near the proposed BRT stations north of East Market Place. While mtg will not feature a formal presentation, the plans & results will be available for public viewing & staff members will be on hand to explain the proposed work, answer ?s, & gather public comments #HoCoMD.
