My experience is a minor example, compared to many other issues with the GRE. But just saying that geographical location was enough to substantially increase the cost, and decrease accessibility to the test. Not to mention being exhausted from travel while actually writing.

Good riddance. I took the GRE while living in a rural location. This required a hotel stay and 5+ hr drive (each way) just to take the test. I was privileged to afford this (and in many other ways). But please keep challenging barriers to entry. Some can be quite covert

You've heard of Matlab functions, but do you use dysfunctions? I wrote a clever one that aggregates subjects' EEG data into one group structure, and deletes that structure on each new subject loop. Only takes ~2 hours to run. #AcademicTwitter

Despite a VERY supportive supervisor and lab who somehow don't get tired of my venting, nothing feels back-to-normal as a PhD disrupted by the pandemic. For ~2yrs of no data collection, I had too much completed to totally pivot, but not enough to finish. We are still drowning.
