Today, Forester Jeremey Falkenau from @ForestryVA talked with our Seek-Search-Survive kids about conservation, and we took a short hike in a beautiful place to conserve--Cumberland Preserve, which is right in our backyard! ❤️🌲 @MrsCederholm

We ended the week studying adaptations and inventions in Seek-Search-Survive! The kids dissected owl pellets and built solar ovens. We've definitely got some future engineers and/or surgeons! @MrsCederholm

It was another great day at Seek-Search-Survive! Ranger John and Ranger Calvin led the kids on a marsh hike and then facilitated seine and small net fishing! The kids had a blast. Thank you, @VAStateParks! @MrsCederholm

It was a busy day with @MrsCederholm at Seek-Search-Survive! The kids worked on orienteering, learned about binoculars, and made fire starters. Tomorrow's mission: outdoor cooking!

Today's focus at Seek-Search-Survive was weaving! The kids practiced lashing and made survival bracelets. Shout out to our guest teacher and newest super survivalist, @AngelaFoss! @MrsCederholm

The kids killed it today at Wahrani Trail as part of Seek-Search-Survive! One of our groups saw two snakes, the pioneer graveyard, a geocaching box,and hiked over four miles. It was worth the sweat! @MrsCederholm

It was another great day of Seek-Search-Survive during our NKMS Summer of More! We assembled first aid kits and had an amazing visit from @NKFireRescue! @MrsCederholm

We celebrated Veterans Day today in grand style with fabulous guest speaker, Staff Sergeant McLean, outstanding musical numbers by our band and chorus, and most importantly, our honored guests--NK veterans! Thank you,@MrsCederholm, @FrankWhee1er, and crew for a great experience.

Today our English 7 students did a gallery walk about September 11, 2001 in honor of its anniversary this Sunday. They were encouraged to jot down things they learned, questions they still had, and make note of an image that they found particularly compelling. @NewKentMS
