"Hi, I'm Ale."
😳 A... Ali? Like Mohammed Ali?
"No, Ale, like Alejandro, but just Ale."
Oh, Alé, got it, nice to meet you Alé.
"Sorry, the accent's on the first syllable."
*apparently forgets what syllables are*
Isn't that what I said?
*workshops a 3-letter name for 10 minutes*
@BluehairCoffee @JustSayXtian Yes, it has its roots in Old English; the odd thing and nonsensical about it is that it survives in so few worse and doesn't apply consistently. The plural of book isn't beek, the plural of food isn't feed, and the plural of house isn't hice.
@promeranian@coffeespoonie My other favorite is when Xtian atheists characterize all religion as dogmatic, hierarchical, anti-science, oppressive, and "just praying that Magical Sky Daddy will save you from Hell."
@yaxkukmassive @jmarquiso@promeranian Lmao what a joke. Judaism is not Western, nor was early Christianity, the only Greek influence on Judaism is some later philosophical exchange, and the only Roman influence was the destruction of the Temple. Try a little harder to mask your white supremacy.
@yaxkukmassive @promeranian Nothing in Judaism or Christianity (which are theologically and ethically distinct) suggest anything we would today call democracy, *certainly* not private property, and in Christianity, little abt freedom of thought. Not sure where you get these ideas other than white supremacy.
it's always "listen to black women" until they're socialists, revolutionaries, pan africanist, etc.....cuz now ur just uncomfortable with that idea of listening to them
Man, I am almost *never* surprised at who in my broader social circle gets covid. 90+% of the time, they're conservative, "don't care about politics," or are just reckless with covid safety. And most of the time after they recover they go right back to the reckless shit.
Y'all, it's not that hard, there is definitely an "Old" York and an "Old" Zealand (Zeeland). It's not always a country. Google is your friend (okay not really but information like this is readily available on any search engine, even Ask Jeeves c. 2000)
